The workshop is organized as part of Wellbeing Days – a conference on wellbeing and mental health care. Registration is open to all MU students and staff.

Abstract

This workshop will be based on a gentle yoga practice where we will stretch and gently strengthen our physical body. We will also learn breathing techniques based on yoga teachings that lead to stress reduction. The entire class will be conducted in the spirit of mindfulness, being in the present moment. The class will conclude with extended relaxation using aromatherapy oils.

What to Bring

You're welcome to bring your own mat if you have one. We'll also have some available to borrow at the studio.

Lecturer

Mgr. Lenka Prokešová

You will be guided through this yoga practice by Mgr. Lenka Prokešová, psychologist at the MUNI counselling centre and yoga lecturer. Lenka spent a year travelling in Asia, where she studied yoga in India. Since her return to the Czech Republic, she has been working as a yoga lecturer in yoga studios in Brno and leads yoga retreats. In addition to teaching yoga, she is a certified somatic coach and is currently undergoing psychotherapeutic training in PCA. She perceives her yoga practice as an opportunity to learn to be more in the present moment and in touch with her physical body and self
